Advent can often feel like a countdown to Christmas and a hustle of preparation for the holidays, when in fact the liturgical season is all about waitng—not for a short-lived celebration, but for a person.

One way our parish is seeking to prepare well for Christ’s Nativity is with the Advent study, Waiting Well with Fr. Mike Schmitz. Waiting Well is a multifaceted program that features daily reflections, prayer, and opportunities for journaling. We will also meet weekly in the Bishop Sullivan Room to discuss the Sunday readings as well as the journal themes for that week.

This Advent, we can learn to wait well together as a community. Advent can be active preparation, a beautiful opportunity to let Jesus into every part of our lives. A contribution of $4 per journal is appreciated to help towards covering the cost of the journal and shipping. Please sign up now so we can order additional journals if needed.
