TEACHING MASS

DINNER RESERVATIONS HAVE CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT.
ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THE MASS, EVEN IF YOU DID NOT REGISTER.

Saint Mary’s is happy to invite Middle & High School youth (and their parents!) to attend a ‘Teaching Mass’ on Sunday, November 19 starting at 6:00 PM. Dinner will be served after Mass.

People often ask questions about things that happen during Mass. Questions like:

+ why does the priest wear specific vestments?
+ why do we stand at some times, and kneel at others?
+ why do we make the sign of the Cross with our thumb prior to the Gospel?
+ why do we sing certain parts of the Mass?

During this ‘Teaching Mass,’ Fr. Renninger will pause several times to explain why Catholics do things in specific ways. Fr Mike will also reflect briefly on what Catholics believe is happening whenever we gather to celebrate the Eucharist.

After Mass, everyone is invited to stay for dinner, which will be served in the Commons. During dinner, Fr. Mike and other adult team leaders will share brief information about upcoming youth ministry activities for Middle & High School Youth.

If you plan to attend this Mass and dinner, RSVP by November 16 the link below.
