From Fr. Dan: "If you truly want to understand our Church, you need to know its history. And we have nearly 2,000 years of history! Now, I love history – but not when it is just a lot of dates and memorization! But if you can see history as a STORY OF PEOPLE, it is a lot more interesting. (Following the story of other peoples’ lives is a great American pastime! ! !)
Starting on Monday August 16, and Wednesday August 18, I will be offering Adult Ed classes on “The History of the Church through the Eyes of the Saints (and some Sinners).” Over the course of the year we will be introduced to many saints – some familiar – others new to us. We will hear many stories, some a bit fanciful some others a bit bizarre. Many will be inspiring and help us understand the roots of our Catholic Church as we have grown from the New Testament Church into the 21st century. In all of these stories we will see God at work in our Church through great saints and ordinary people alike (and even through some sinners!)."
