Children
Our children's Christian Formation (Religious Education) program is for children ages 4 though grade 5. Christian Formation is a partnership between the church and parents, who are their child's first and primary catechist. St. Mary's provides a combination of both "at church" sessions and "at home" assignments. Each student enrolled will receive a grade level textbook.
There are two "at church" opportunities:
1. Sunday Program: This program occurs twice a month on Sunday afternoon for two hours. In addition to classroom time, students also visit other "sites" which include music, crafts, and other special activities. Note: There is "at home" work to prepare for the sessions and to review the sessions after attending.
2. Weekday Program: This is a traditional, classroom-based Religous Education program. Students attend an 1 hour and 15 minute class, 3 times per month. Parents will be responsible for seeing that children complete homework assignments prior to each class.
In addition to the above sessions, two family "rotation" sessions will be offered for both parents and children. At these sessions, parents and children will rotate through a variety of activites based on a specific faith theme.
For parents, we will offer a few adult formation sessions during the Sunday program. Dates and Topics will be announced when available.

Home Study
For a variety of reasons, some families would prefer to choose a Home Study option for the religious education of their children and teens. St. Mary's does offer this option. Parents should contact the Director of Christian Formation to learn more about this option.
