Rooted In Christ
A Twelve Session Adult Faith Formation Program
- 1st Wednesday evening of every month at 7:00 pm - starting October 7th -

Since one of the primary objectives of Adult Faith Formation is to deepen each person's relationship with Christ, the goal of these session is 1) to help adults learn the faith "by sharing it" and 2) to experience all of the ingredients that make us Catholic. The first session "I Believe in God" will invite us to reflect more deeply on the first article of the Creed.

Please call Sr. Pat at the Parish Office for more information.

Threshold Bible Study

Two Bible Studies are being offered this Lenten Season:

1) The Resurrection and the Life

This group will start on Sunday, February 7 and continue through Sunday, March 21. They will meet in the St. Anne Room from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. This study will help you understand what the Scriptures teach us about our own resurrection and how that hope gives purpose to everything we do. Jesus is God's greatest victory and likewise he is the fulfillment of humanity's deepest longing. Because of the resurrection of Jesus, a new age has dawned and life will never be the same again. What exactly did happen on Easter morning? Why did it impel the disciples to begin a journey that would transform the world?

2) People of the Passion

This group will start on Wednesday, February 10 and continue through Wednesday, March 24. The will meet in the St. Mary Room from 9:30 am - 11:00 am. In this study you will meet well-known characters including Peter, Pilate, and Mary Magdalen; lesser-known characters include Simon of Cyrene, the daughters of Jerusalem, and the woman who anointed Jesus. The people of the passion in this book are the characters who participated in some dramatic way in the suffering and death of Jesus. Suffering seems to bring out the best and the worst in our human nature. Some people are overcome with hopelessness that leads to despair; others are filled with courage that elads to herosim. Still others exhibit a wide range of responses that reveal their character: trust, generostiy, steadfastness, cowardice, greed and pride.

If you are interested in participating in either of these groups, or if you would prefer to do a private study, please email or call Sr. Pat at the Parish Office right away so enough books can be ordered. Cost of the book is $12.95 (make checks payable to St. Mary's Church).

Adult Confirmation Classes
Wednesday Evenings, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
February 17th - March 31st.

Many adult Catholics, for one reason or another, have never been confirmed. If you have been baptized Catholic and received Communion, but were never confirmed, please give St. Pat at call at the Parish Office (740-4044, ext. 13) to register for this process.

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be conferred at the Easter Vigil on Saturday, April 3rd.
