Threshold Bible Study
Two Bible Studies are being offered beginning this October:
1) Advent Light
This group will meet on Wednesday mornings, October 6 and continue through November 10. Advent is a time for new understanding, for putting different pieces of God's revelation together to see the divine plan more clearly. We listen to the words of the ancient prophets, to the wisdom of Jesus, to the stories of his birth and infancy and we make connections. Then we connect those truths to our own lives and our world and see how God is acting anew, how God continues to reveal the coming of Jesus today.
2)The Names of Jesus
This group will meet on Sunday mornings, October 10 and continue through November 14. They will meet in the St. Mary Room from 9:30 am - 11:00 am. The essential purpose of reading the scriptures is to know a person - Jesus Christ. knowing the names of Jesus allows us to establish a closer and fuller relationship with him. Every name that he bears is a blessing that he shares.
If you are interested in either of these groups, or if you would prefer to do a private study, please contact Sr. Pat so enough books can be ordered. Cost of the book is $12.95 (make checks payable to St. Mary's Church.)
Adult Confirmation Classes
Many adult Catholics, for one reason or another, have never been confirmed. If you have been baptized Catholic and received Communion, but were never confirmed, please give Sr. Pat a call at the Parish Office to register for this process.
